A self-taught abstract minimalist expressionist whose visceral works fuse materiality, emotion, and global perspective.
Founded on a intimate understanding of paint expression and the construction of three dimensional sculptural works, Jeans pieces explores the relationship between the the physcology of the self expression, the construct of the work and the individual onlooker.
Using a variety of media including sand ochre, industrial paints, cement, wood, industrial metals he situates his work as a contemporary extension of himself and the visual impact he has on the landscape and onlooker as a human act of creating something that does not exist and has never seen before.
All the works created comes from emotional base, grounded as a visceral act of creation withinhis canton of experiences and his minimal approach to artistic life and art aesthetic. This mindset has assisted him thru time and has become his ethos, his work is uniquely recognisable as is own and as a scholar of abstraction to his core.
